To begin:
The Theme - infered from the title, tells us that the subject is is opaque, "she's got secrets to be revealed" The theme is well carried throughout.
Posture - her posture shows guarding, timidness and fear. Not a fear of being seen but probed. This is accentuated by the sullen countenance and by drawing the sleeve's over her hands for further separation from our peering glances. As the primary object it's appropriate for her to be sharp. Her slightly disheveled hair gently enveloping the edges of her face and swollen eyes are consistent in her presentation.
Color:
The matte charcoal sweater is unrevealing and strengthens the implied cover up. The unfocused landscape contains color variation of a late fall cloudy day void of sharp shadowing and forms. The healthy green give us the contrast needed to set her in the foreground. The lips are the only small accent of color to draw you to her tender condition (the slight puffy appearance allure us to her.
Technique:
I cannot comment regarding the photography techniques.
Impact:
It's stunning - of the thousands of dA submittals, only a few catch your eye when scrolling through. Without selling her out or selling us short - this is a lovely image.
It's my fave of the day.
thanks,
Schermerberger
